If you’d like to pop over, here are the things we recommend you don’t miss:

• Palazzo Orsini: You’ll find it right at the entrance of the town. It’s a huge fortress, and inside there’s a museum with frescoed rooms, antique furniture, and a rich piece of local history.

• The Jewish Ghetto and the Synagogue: Pitigliano is also known as “Little Jerusalem” because of its historic Jewish community. Wandering through the neighborhood, you can visit the Synagogue and the old rooms carved straight into the rock, like the bakery and the cellar.

• Getting lost in the alleyways: The best piece of advice is to put away your phone and just wander around. The town center is full of narrow lanes, flower-filled staircases, cats sleeping in the sun, and views over the valley that are well worth a picture.

• The Etruscan Vie Cave: Just outside town, you’ll find these incredible pathways carved into the rock face by the ancient Etruscans. Walking between these high stone walls in the cool, quiet woods is a fantastic experience to have before heading back to the hotel.
